Greetings virtual anglers! Kiel Canal now has 7 locations, new features, and 12 species of fish. This guide lists all the locations, times, lures, techniques, hooks, and baits I used to catch all the species. The locations I used before the big update will be listed in brackets [1, 2, 3]. Old locations 1, 2, and 3 now correspond to locations 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
Great place to earn XP
Location 3 on this map is a great place to earn XP! I just cast the Sakura Bainer 105S 6 times and caught 5 fish totaling 4500 XP. It was a mixture of Atlantic Cod, Atlantic Salmon, Sea Trout, and European Sea Sturgeon.
I’ve found this to be a lot more successful than fishing the Sturgeon in Russia for XP. You won’t get a bite every cast with the Sakura Bainer though. For that, go for the Robinson Mackerel K15. It’s big enough to catch the big fish on the map – I just got a 115 lb Atlantic cod with one – and also small enough to ensure you catch something nearly every cast.
